It’s always confused me that something so ‘healthy’ as a granola bar can be so bad for you. They’re often loaded with sugar, fat and salt and no redeeming nutrients. On the other end of the spectrum, the granola bars which do contain nutritious contents often taste like cardboard.
But I remain a granola bar fan, and I’m always in search of a healthy, yet tasty bar. I was excited when Taste of Nature offered to send me samples of their bars, which are certified organic, vegan, Kosher, and non-GMO. The bars have ingredients like: sesame seeds, agave syrup, raisins, peanuts, walnuts, crisp brown rice, fig pieces, brown rice syrup, cranberries, pomegranate juice concentrate, raspberries (Persian Pomegranate Garden flavour). Nothing you can’t pronounce there!

Grant and I each tried one tonight, and we’re both very impressed! I’m excited to have found a bar that contains many nutritious ingredients, and still tastes good.

I had the Persian Pomegranate Garden flavour, and I loved the crunchyness/crackle of the sesame seeds and crisp brown rice combination. I was surprised how much dried fruit was packed into this bar! And for 170 calories, I’m impressed with how filling they are!

Grant had the Niagara Apple Country bar, and he thought the mix of apple, nuts and sesame was tasty. Another score for Taste of Nature!
I haven’t seen these bars in grocery stores (but I’ll be looking!) but I have seen them for sale as individuals at convenience stores (definitely a much healthier option than a bag of chips!). I think they are about $2 a bar, which is comparable to what the Clif/Luna/Lara/Kashi sell for at a convenience store. I will absolutely be buying some of these!

Hi there! I’m very happy that I came upon your blog thanks to twitter
Although I was tempted to choose the Quebec Cranberry Festival as a supporting tribute to my native province, I will have to go with Persian Pomegranate Garden as the bar I’d like to try. Thanks for this offer and have a great day!
